In March 2024, Chicken Town Egg Farm became part of the Brent Floating Farms family of companies and we are so glad to add these ladies to our farm. When they arrived they became our second flock and we have plans to add more flocks in the coming months. Our farm is bigger than just chickens and we have big dreams for the future, but first, some introductions are in order.
Frank, aka Chicken Daddy, has had at least a family flock of poultry for most of his life and his role as Chicken Tender comes naturally and easily to him. He is also fond of game birds, including pheasant and quail.
Fun fact: Frank has previously bred his own unique variety of quail that are just over 1 lb in weight as a dressed bird and is all-white meat.
His favorite way to eat an egg is over-easy.
Cinda has 30 years experience pampering poultry, and used to be known for her Blue Jersey Giant chickens. Now she’s back into poultry and loving it.
She enjoys egg statistics and watching the birds chase bugs. She enjoys game birds too, and next to a chicken egg, a pheasant egg is her favorite, with a close runner-up as hard-boiled guinea egg. Cinda is not as fond of guinea alarm sounds.
Her favorite way to eat an egg is soft-boiled with crackers, ramen noodles or rice.
These dogs are more than just pets and are an integral part of the farm. They are our bio security system keeping away foxes, coyotes and other predators that could harm the various livestock. After being on the farm for only a few days, you become accustomed to their deep barks and are able to tell where things are calm with their "all's well" barks and when something's going on with their "who are you and what are you doing here?" barks.
Howlie got his name because he arrived on the farm on Halloween a few years ago.
These goats look magical following around their horse friend. Where one is, the other is never far away.
At Brent Floating Farms, we are grabbing the best techniques from various styles of agriculture and taking a running leap forward.
We are combining the mobility of shipping containers, water savings of aquaponics and scientific research to grow bigger, juicier and dare we say tastier produce in much smaller spaces than has been done previously.
